CATENA COLLAPSE / SINALOA split (narshardaa) - 4 euros
This split 7" features a song out of SINALOA´s "footprints on floorboards" recording session, which wasn`t on the album, but is as great as all other songs. Full of emotions, anger, energy and amazing melodies. Somehow they remind us of bands like RITES OF SPRING, VAN PELT or BOB TILTON, but sound really unique and also have a "modern" note. On the other site you get an unreleased CATENA COLLAPSE song. We only need one word to explain their sound: EMO, but in the words best meaning. Maybe the most passionated and intense european band at the moment and this song just sounds unbelievable good. Even if you heard descriptions like this a billion times before and you think this 7" can`t be something you really have to listen to or to love, you are wrong, my dear. This 7" is nothing but a blast and a must have if you like emotive post hardcore

HOT CROSS / HOLY SHROUD "picture 7" (destructure) - 5 euros
The genesis of this superb split 7” was the Hot Cross/The One AM Radio/Holy Shroud Canadian tour in the summer of 2004. After playing a week of dates together, and feeling the primordial rock energy flowing each night it only seemed natural for these two bands to split time on a slab of vinyl. The Holy Shroud track, “Clear the Room,” was recorded during the same session as their debut full length, “Ghost Repeater.” It features the same off kilter melodies, tight and propulsive rhythms and intensely shouted yet indubitably catchy vocal patterns that they displayed on their full length. Hot Cross offer up a brand new song entitled Tacoma. This track has been featured in their live set for the last six months and was finally committed to tape in March. While not entirely shunning their more chaotic and discordant sound, this song is without a doubt a rock number. This is definitely their best material to-date.

J CHURCH "Leni Riefenstahl's finder box" (Love Boat ) - 3 euros
The only single from the One Mississippi album was the slow march condemning one of the most pre-eminent Nazi propagandists, the film-maker whose Triumph Of The Will, documenting Hitler's Nuremberg Rallies, is a sick classic of the fable of Aryan superiority. Leni died in 2004 at the age of 101 but despite her later work in underwater photography and in documenting the Nuba people of Sudan, she never overcame her pre-WWII infamy. To learn more, read The Guardian (UK)'s lengthy obituary, or visit her official website.
Closing Time In An Early Town was recorded for One Mississippi but was one of two songs dropped from the final running order. Harvest is a cover of the Neil Young song, though you probably wouldn't recognise it. It's one of Lance's 'bedroom four-track recordings', with distorted vocals in the vein of

KIDCRASH / L'ANTIETAM (narshardaa) - 4 euro
Split 7" between Kidcrash from Olympia and Santa Fe and L'Antietam from New Hampshire. Both bands are celebrating the typical mid 90s emo. Kidcrash are wilder and weirder. L'Antietam much more melancholic.

MUSHITCIANS "Smashing heads off into the empedrated floor of Malasaña county" (Munster ) - 3 euros

OFF WITH THEIR HEADS / DEAR LANDLORD (no idea) - 4 euros
These songs and bands dovetail really nicely. Both draw inspiration from the Minneapolis noise of bands like DILLINGER FOUR, with great sing alongs and plenty of buzzsaw spit and bite. Also a little TOYS THAT KILL flavor in there too. Four new songs (2 each). Colored vinyl. DL have ex-members of RIVETHEAD (Recess), and a couple members have played on a few OWTH records too! OWTH is still cranking, having just released their collection album "All Things Move Toward Their End", several split 7" records, and have just finished recording their first proper album, "From the Bottom", which is due out on No Idea in 2008.

POCAHAUNTED/ORPHAN FAIRYTALE split (release the bats) - 4 euro

Pocahaunted has been real busy the last year: opening for Sonic Youth, several collaborations with Robedoor, tape/cd-r releases on Not Not Fun, Arbor, Fuck It Tapes etc, split LPs with Christina Carter and Mythical Beast... and yeah, we could go on forever (and mention the 2 new vinyl albums on Arbor and Woodsist that are being released at the same time as this 7"...)! Here Amanda and Bethany gives us Warpaint, another dubbed-out and almost heavy lo-fi anthem with that always so special and unique Pocahaunted vibe. The discography of Orphan Fairytale, the solo moniker of Eva Van Deuren, mainly consists of very limited tape and cd-r releases so far, with the only previous vinyl output being an amazing collaboration LP with Mudboy. Live actions includes a performance at No Fun Fest 2007 and a set that took place inside of a container. Here she continues with her haunting and always captivating and melodic keyboard hymns. Made By Mermaids is a trip in the ocean gone bad. Limited to 500 copies. Full colour labels, yellow big-hole sleeves with design and screenprint (in glowing red) by RTB-sidekick HLG

V/A DIE HOLLE, ORGAN GRINDER, KRAPNEK ... (Boum Coeur ) - 3 euros

VILLABRUT / KNIVES - Split 7" (gasping for breath) - 4 euros
Knives present us with "Schteve Albini Wants His Riffs Back", which I think is more of a cheeky reference to Villabrut on the flip, a band who revolve around the axis of New Brutalism and other "brut" bands, and to a more obvious extent, the aforementioned Steve Albini outfit Shellac. Getting back to Knives, they sound very much like their own entity, twiddling away some lovely arpeggiated riffing before shifting into some heavier moments. It's tricksy and arch, but tunefully memorable. Villabrut have the heavy grooved, noisy riffed, yelled vocal thing right smack down into the ground. Throw some sweet minimalist packaging into the pot and you've got one classy international split release of rocking tuneful bands with a distinctly mathy edge. Generally think of bands like Off Minor, Big Black, The Jesus Lizard and The Red Scare (Villabrut features an ex member of this band).

VIOLENT BREAKFAST / LAGHETTO split (lots of labels) - 3 euros
Laghetto play powerful and aggressive hc in the vein of refused and jr ewing. Violent breakfast are more in the screamo side with a nice touch of new wave a la vss.
